Welcome back to another blog everyone! Today I wanted to introduce y’all to some books that have come out recently or will be coming out in the near future. If you haven’t already read my post, “5 Books I’m Excited to Read This Spring,” go ahead and read that first. In this post, I’ll be adding to that list though only including books from Women Writers. We women writers should be supporting and nurturing each other. Together, perhaps, we can change the literary landscape of our world and open up the literary canon even further for future generations.  But for…

Welcome back everyone! We’re halfway through National Get Caught Reading Month. This is a month where bookworms literally strive to get caught reading in places like a bookstore, on the subway, in a cafe, or in line for coffee. Like many of you, I would love to celebrate this month because it would mean our world is back to normal; It would mean we could be out and about trying to get caught reading without a thought of Covid-19 or social distancing. Unfortunately, neither of those things seems to be going away anytime soon, so we’ll have to adjust how…

Hello all! Just a quick announcement that there will not be a post this week. I’m taking a celebratory week off due to the fact that I earned my Master’s of Arts in Writing and Publishing from Emerson College this week. Don’t worry though because we’ll be back next week to talk about some highly anticipated books coming out soon! Have a wonderful week everyone! Be safe! And, as always, happy reading! Marissa

Hello all! We have only 2 more days until National Poetry Month is over! I hope you all have celebrated by writing some of your own poetry or reading some. I’ve done a little of both. This week I wanted to write a bit about what I’ve been reading: The Truth About Magic from New York Times best-selling author Atticus. I’ve read through his first two poetry collections Love Her Wild and The Dark Between Stars. And, I’ve loved each of them; His third one doesn’t disappoint.  Atticus has a way of looking at the world that is so special.…

Welcome back, Wilde About Books community! We’re almost to the end of National Poetry Month! Has anyone been working on any big projects? I’m in my last week of graduate school, so my big project is almost over! Today I wanted to talk about putting your writing into the world, so I thought I’d start by sharing my experience and see where we go from there.  If I’m being honest, I’ll admit that I’ve put little of myself, my writing, into the world. I’ve submitted to a few university competitions and a few small publications, but nothing more than that.…

Happy Wednesday! We’re officially halfway through National Poetry Month! I hope you’ve had a month full of reading and writing. Today, I’m changing things up a little bit, and I’ll tell you why. Today is my mom’s birthday. As I’ve mentioned before in previous posts, my mom is the one who inspired my love of reading and writing. (If you missed “Finding the Magic in Reading and Writing” post, go back and read that one first.) My mom has always been my person. The one who I can always rely on to be my biggest champion and my closest friend.…
