Welcome back everyone! We’re halfway through National Get Caught Reading Month. This is a month where bookworms literally strive to get caught reading in places like a bookstore, on the subway, in a cafe, or in line for coffee. Like many of you, I would love to celebrate this month because it would mean our world is back to normal; It would mean we could be out and about trying to get caught reading without a thought of Covid-19 or social distancing. Unfortunately, neither of those things seems to be going away anytime soon, so we’ll have to adjust how…

Hello all! We have only 2 more days until National Poetry Month is over! I hope you all have celebrated by writing some of your own poetry or reading some. I’ve done a little of both. This week I wanted to write a bit about what I’ve been reading: The Truth About Magic from New York Times best-selling author Atticus. I’ve read through his first two poetry collections Love Her Wild and The Dark Between Stars. And, I’ve loved each of them; His third one doesn’t disappoint.  Atticus has a way of looking at the world that is so special.…

Happy Wednesday! We’re officially halfway through National Poetry Month! I hope you’ve had a month full of reading and writing. Today, I’m changing things up a little bit, and I’ll tell you why. Today is my mom’s birthday. As I’ve mentioned before in previous posts, my mom is the one who inspired my love of reading and writing. (If you missed “Finding the Magic in Reading and Writing” post, go back and read that one first.) My mom has always been my person. The one who I can always rely on to be my biggest champion and my closest friend.…

Welcome back, folks! I hope you’re staying healthy and entertained! We’re a little over a week into National Poetry Month, and I hope you’ve had a chance to read some poetry or write your own. We’re also coming up on Drop Everything and Read Day on April 12! As a community of bookworms, let’s seize the day on April 12 and dive head first into a lovely place I like to call Bookland.  Bookland is my favorite place. It’s that sacred space between the written word and the imagination. It’s that place you go to when you’re supposed to be…

Happy Friday everyone! I wanted to begin today’s post by saying, “Thank you!” Thank you all for your patience and understanding as we were having some technical difficulties this past Wednesday when our new blog post was supposed to go up. Thanks to some great people, we are back up and running! Now let’s get rolling… April 1st kicked off National Poetry Month! This month is dedicated to all our poets out there, published or otherwise. It’s dedicated to those who simply love to read poetry. If there have been some poetry collections waiting on your “to read” list, now…

It’s that time of week again folks! Happy Wednesday! I hope you’re surviving quarantine and have found wonderful things to read and write about! My writing has fallen a little to the wayside as I’ve been consumed with Sarah J. Maas’ A Court of Thorns and Roses saga, which is a truly original retelling of Beauty and the Beast. You can check it out here! Today is National Tolkien Reading Day marking an annual event encouraging the reading of JRR Tolkien’s works and the use of them in an educational setting. The Tolkien Society launched the event in 2003 having…
